The 7th World Congress for NeuroRehabilitation will be a major event in Melbourne running from 16-19 May 2012. Being held in conjunction with the 35th Annual Brain Impairment Congress for the Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment and the 20th ASM of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (RACP), this meeting is expected to attract over 1500 delegates.
The Congress will be a forum for the presentation of international research, discovery and innovation in NeuroRehabilitation Medicine and will provide a focal point for local, national and international discussion regarding the latest developments in all major sub groups within the field, including Traumatic Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Parkinsons Disease, Post-Polio Syndrome and Neuro-Oncology.
The Scientific Program will run over three days with a pre-congress day of practical workshops. The program will feature morning and early afternoon plenary sessions followed by themed sessions with invited speakers and
selected free paper presentations.
Invited presentations will focus on innovation and new directions in each area. They will also cover updates in understanding the basic science of the condition and will evaluate newer treatment options in acute and rehabilitation settings, including emerging techniques in the various therapy disciplines.
The Scientific Committee also aims to focus on the measurement of long and short-term outcomes in order to evaluate effectiveness of acute and sub-acute management in key topic areas. In addition a discussion will be included on the role and current use of Complementary Medicine in NeuroRehabilitation.
